Here is a picture of my cousin who is learning how to pull socks off our human mom's feet! We think it is fun - mom calls it training!
Some people call me Black and some call me Bella, my Mom, calls me Beautiful. I am a six-month-old Labrador puppy, and my birthday is July 3rd. My Mom is Rhonda and she said that I can be the official blogger as I am not being trained to be a service dog like the others here because I had an injury to my right eye.
I am told that I am blind in it, which means that I cannot see out of it. Mom says that I have a disability similar to some of the humans that my brothers and sisters are being trained to help. My Doctor who I really like said it cannot be corrected. That is OK because I don’t know that it is a disability, as to me, it is just the way that I see. I love to run on the beach chase the birds, and it is so much fun to play with all my brothers and sisters, and even all the dogs that I am not related to when we have puppy parties. It is also fun when we play retrieving games, and bring balls, pens and pencils and lots of fun stuff that Mom wants me to bring to her. Don’t tell Mom but I think she is a bit clumsy as she is always dropping things. I really enjoy helping her as I am such a good puppy. I help my Mom by picking everything that she drops. She always gives me a hug and tells me how smart that I am. One of my favorite things is to snuggle and give kisses or have my tummy rubbed. My Mom tells that I am just a big ol’ love bug. What ever that means, it OK with me. well we are smelling spring - no matter what that groundhog sees! The sun is warmer and we get to play outside longer in the sun everyday.
Our human mom has been going to meetings and she is coming home quite excited. She said that she is going to a meeting with The Eastern Star in Truro - how can she go to a star? Next month she is going to the Halifax Club for a lunch - wonder if she will bring home a doggie bag? gotta go - my friends are woofing and I want to play Hello Everyone,
I had a great day today, as I was making snow angels in the freshly fallen snow. My brother and sisters, and friends were running up the big hill and sliding down – all the time making snow angels. It was fun! My human Mom, Rhonda would hide toys like hats and mittens in the snow and we would have to find them. We used our noses and had a ball digging them up! What fun! Mom says when we are gown up and become working dogs, that it is important that we can find things with our noses, even hats in the snow. Than we had to do some odd stuff, like keeping our bums on the ground in a sitting position, while Mom would call my brother, and the rest of us while we all had to wait. That was hard, as when Mom calls us, we know we will have lots of hugs, and a play session. It was really hard to sit and be still while Harley went to play with Mom. But that was OK, for when it was my turn; Mom really gave me lots of hugs, and even had a cookie in her pocket for me. Than we all, even Mom played roll down the hill while we tried to take Mom’s hat off her head. She just laughed and gave hugs to us all. We were tired, and Mom took us all in the house and we had a nice hot treat, and a long nap. Mom even snored. Till next time. Bell. |
